A Bad Day at the Office!!!

Another hard day at the office for Darlington, this time “only” conceding two goals away at Luton . . . and this in spite of losing defender Lee before half-time for two bookings. It’s turning out to be a bit more difficult this season than pre-season games suggested . . . bring on Hayes & Yeading . . . lambs to the slaughter!!!

It’s nothing but easy for Sarah Walton . . . this football prediction thingy. Now on 35 points at the top of the table after her fourth correct prediction in eight games. Continue like this and all records will be smashed. Mind you, 53 other managers had the same scoreline this weekend so perhaps not that outstanding!!! Steve Calvert has 31 points in second place, with the trio of Damian Dickson, James Houghton and Martin Cass on 28. Steve Curtis in sixth with 27.

Some of those who scored eight: Julie Gardner is in the thick of it in seventh on 25 points; Lisa Picker has jumped away from the relegation places to 117th on 11 points; Stuart Williams more than doubled his points tally to 14 in 58th place and Neil Wakelam fared even better on 17 points in 38th spot.

The rest of max scorers: Alex Hope, Andrew Vernon, Arthur Dent, Beth Taylor, Chris Mackenzie, Dan Taylor, Dave Woods, David Alderson, David Taylor, Elaine Battison, Frank Mann, Garry Mann, Gary Elliott, Humphrey Bogart, Ian Bonsall, Jeff Maughan, John Baskerville, Julian Tutty, Kev Leatherbarrow, Malcolm Cundick 3, Mark Lear, Mark Stephenson, Martyn Cripps 2, Matthew Ashmore, Mel Douglas, Mike Cass, Mike Cleasby 1, Mike Cleasby 2, Neil Raper, Nick Groves, Paul Johnson 2, Paul Robinson, Paul Soderman, Paul White, Peter Ashmore 1, Peter Ashmore 2, Rhonda Fleming, Sam Taylor, Simon Cowing, Stephen Atkinson, Stephen Bennett, Stephen Nicholson, Steve Calvert 1, Steve Mann, Terence Sadler, Thom Kennedy, Tim Hewitson, Toby Corum 1, Wayne Gibson . . . told you there was a lot!!!

Toby Corum still has the unenviable title of Tail End Charlie – nul points still firmly held, but only one score away from . . . not having nul points!!! A whole bunch of managers only on three points so nothing’s signed, sealed and delivered.

OK, on present form (or perhaps not) I’m going for a 1-0 win against H&Y to get us back on track.
