Lidds Weaves His Magic!

There’s been another two-week break in Darlington’s season, but Craig Liddle has continued to weave his magic right throughout the club’s teams. While the youth team goes from strength to strength winning through to an FA cup tie against Newcastle United at the Sports Direct Arena (yeah, right!), the first team travelled to Ebbsefleet with several of the youth team in the squad.

And it was attacking midfielder Dale Hopson, making his frist team debut, who stole the show with a complete alround performance. His injury time goal giving the team a fine and deserved 3-1 win.

And ten managers found the midas touch with that scoreline – Malcolm Cundick’s third XI being the main beneficiaries moving up to second place on 54 behind Chris Kane on 59. Damian Dickson on 52 and Neil Danby on 50 complete those who’ve broken the half century barrier. Sarah Walton, 49; and Jean Johnson, 48; have slipped down to fifth and sixth, respectively.

Burt Lancaster (45) is just ahead of Ecnal Dnaleri (44) after both scored maximums, whilst Ecnal’s twin brother Lance also achieved a maximum and is now on 41. Alex Hope is well within shouting distance on 42.

Another star Robert Mitchum has 37 points in 30th place along with Stuart Williams, Malcolm Cundick also has his first team in sight of league glory, sitting in 37th place on 36 points. Julie Gardner is now creeping up that table on 35 points. Tony Taylor is almost out of the bottom half now on 29 points in joint 90th place.

And it’s still only nine points for Luke Hewitson, Richard Soul and Thomas Jackson at the foot of the table – there was a time I thought they might get more than Darlo.
