Darlo Succumb to Trust Owned Club

Darlo headed off to Wales for the visit to Wrexham, who today became the latest Supporters’ Trust-owned club after the sale went through before kick-off. But it was The Quakers who got off to the better start and Marc Bridge-Wilkinson put them ahead from the penalty spot after the biggest stonewall penalty ever. And they continued to play well and make good chances, particularly to Bowman in the second half. But a disputed goal (hand ball) and well-created free kick undid all the hard work. Manager Craig Liddle not happy at all with the officials in this 2-1 defeat.

And all the top managers in the Come On Darlo Prediction League didn’t do themselves any favours, allowing Steve Curtis to jump into joint fifth on 55 after his correct score. Diana Willsher isn’t far behind on 52 in joint eighth, along with . . . ME!!!! (you don’t realise how long I’ve had to wait to be in the top ten!!!).

Richard Tilly’s max score moves him well away from the foot of the table in 108th place on 32, along with Brian Main and Karen Sheen; Sam Taylor and Paul Hodgson doing rather better in 60th with 39 points.

Other top scorers: Carl Hankin, Chris Mackenzie, David Taylor, David Welton, Don Chesney, Emile Puttemans, Gary Elliott, Howard Hall, Ian Bonsall, Janet Heath, John Berry 1, John Gutenberg, Julian Tutty, Lorraine Arscott, Maurice Tennick, Mel Douglas, Michael Whitmann, Mick Moriarty, Mike Cleasby 2, Nathan Bedford Forest, Paul Soderman, Rhonda Fleming, Ron Manager, Stephen Atkinson, Walter Lucas, Will Caslon, Will Ellis.

It’s been a better points-scoring day at the foot of the table with a smattering for our bottom feeders, with only Richard Soul refusing to move off the 12-point mark.
